Dear friends,
February has turned out to be a pretty darned big month for us here
at Team Mike. Last week my new picture book, THE
TEXAS RANGERS: Legendary Lawmen went on
sale, and today, February
26, 2008 marks the long awaited return of Rachel Buchanan in her new
manga adventure SPY
GODDESS: The Chase for the Chalice, now available in bookstores
everywhere.
So as you can see something
for everyone.
TEXAS RANGERS: Legendary Lawmen is a beautifully
illustrated picture
book with art by Roxie
Munro. It gives young readers
an introduction to the first two hundred years of the Texas Rangers,
the most famous group of lawmen in the West. Readers will learn why and
how the Rangers were formed. What their duties were and what their life
was like as they rode the Texas frontier chasing down outlaws. If you
check my
blog from last week, you’ll see that I posted a ‘gift
guide’ with ideas for people you might know who would
like a copy. (Hint: The short answer is “everyone”!). I hope
you’ll
check it out
This week also heralds the long awaited return of the erstwhile
Rachel Buchanan in her first manga adventure SPY GODDESS:
The Chase for the Chalice. In this installment, our loveable
klutzy teen spy and her friends take off for Japan in another race to
prevent Simon Blankenship from stealing another Mithrian artifact. Of
course Rachel makes sure to fit in some time for shopping, sushi and
more shopping. After all you need to look good when you’re saving
the world.
Fans
of the first two Spy Goddess novels will love this new book.
It picks up right where book two left off and it has all the same characters,
same snappy dialogue and same action as the books. So pick
up a copy and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. (Also, just as a
reminder that both Spy Goddess novels, To
Hawaii with Love and
Live and Let Shop are
now available in reasonably priced paperback editions. I’m just sayin’!)
So stay tuned for more news later in the year about more exciting books!
Peace,
Michael Spradlin
